Since beginning her career in South Africa in 2002, Marisa has been dedicated to helping individuals and couples navigate life’s challenges and uncover pathways to healing and growth. She has been registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board since 2021 and is a proud member of the New Zealand Psychological Society. With over two decades of experience in mental health care, she brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to the community she supports.
Marisa’s approach is warm, empathetic, and person-centred, providing a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard and understood. She is passionate about fostering resilience and empowerment, guiding people on their psychotherapy journey toward meaningful and lasting change.

Therapy with Marisa is highly individualized. She draws on an eclectic framework that integrates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), ecosystemic methods, and psychodynamic principles. She also has a special interest in Internal Family Systems (IFS), a model that supports self-discovery and healing by exploring the interplay between different parts of the self.
Marisa works with adults (18+) and offers therapy to individuals and couples both in person at East Auckland Psychology and via telehealth for greater accessibility.
Her commitment to psychology is deeply rooted in the belief that everyone has the capacity for growth and transformation. Whether facing significant challenges or seeking greater self-understanding, Marisa provides collaborative support every step of the way.

$220 (GST included) for 50 minute appointment
Marisa also accepts referrals under the Wellness Support Programme which allows for funded sessions - speak to your GP regarding referral for this service.
