Dr. Angelina Mao is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board and is a full member of the New Zealand Psychological Society. She has over 20 years of clinical experience in public and private practice settings and has previously worked in the community mental health services of Counties Manukau District Health Board.  

She is based at Highland Park Medical Centre and Pakuranga Medical Centre for face to face sessions and also offers online sessions through video consults.

Her areas of interest include working with:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Post-natal depression

  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder

  • Grief and loss

  • Trauma

  • Adjustment to stressful life events/ Life transitions

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Low self-esteem issues

 

Angelina is empathetic and compassionate in her approach and believes in working collaboratively with her clients to enhance their coping skills and achieve positive outcomes. She is trained in Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Schema therapy, Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Supportive therapy and mindfulness based interventions. She is an ACC registered provider for sensitive claims.

Fees

$190 (GST incl.) per 50 minutes session
Accepting cash, EFTPOS, cheque or internet banking. Sorry no credit card.
You may qualify for up to six free sessions if you are registered with your GP under the Wellness Support programme - please speak to your GP.
