Dr. Karlien Erasmus is a registered psychologist in New Zealand and South Africa, is a member of the New Zealand Psychological Society and an ACC accredited service provider. She holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Pretoria.
 

Karlien has worked in private practice and medical hospitals for 22+ years and has experience in working with people from diverse cultures.

Her interests are:

• Working with adults, young adults, individuals, couples, families, geriatrics and teams.

• Assisting patients and their families with medical related trauma, pre- and post-operative support, coping with chronic illness and degenerative medical diagnoses and to assist management teams.

• General life-goal setting and positive emotional challenging and growth.

• Providing professional supervision to psychologists and other medical professions.

• Issues relating to life, work, relationship challenges, grief, bereavement, adjustment, depression, stress, anxiety and life-stage challenges.

• Using an eclectic- and integrated approach to focus on empowering clients and support overall wellbeing.
   

Karlien achieved international certification in classical piano and aspire to play the bass guitar.

Karlien is part of an adventurous family and love exploring, the outdoors, enjoy sailing and hiking with her husband, Johan and two children.
